Susan Rambles: Breaking Covenants - When Sovereign Humans want to Renegotiate
The definition of a covenant is a solemn promise to engage in or refrain from a specified action.
I hadn’t thought about covenants lately until my meditation this morning. Out of the blue, I started to remember covenants I had made early in my life. Long ago and far away, I was a part of a religion that required rigid obedience to those covenants in order to stay in good standing with them. They were spoken out loud, as a group of people, repeatedly, and in ritualistic form. Whenever a repetitive, focused verbal intention is done - for whatever reason - it creates a very strong, lasting energy. This happens regardless of the intention. In other words, it can be an intention of high vibrational energy, and in alignment with the Divine. Or it can happen if the intention is of a low vibration of any kind.
What I experienced was of the latter, including threats if I was not obedient such as disemboweling and throat cutting. There was more, but I will space you. We would literally take our hand and move them across our throats, for example, as we would say the punishment we would receive if we didn’t obey. Imagine my horror this morning when those distant memories came back to me and I realized that’s not just something you can walk away from. What I know now that I didn’t have a clue about back then, is that that energy can be binding.
If you are reading this and are as freaked out as I was by this idea, be assured that everything is healable. If we made a covenant that we no longer want to participate in, we can break it. And if anyone or anything tells you this is not true, you may want to seriously reconsider why you are listening to someone like that. Control is an illusion. We are powerful and sovereign. But we must step into our power and claim it. No one can do that for us.
After the realization I had this morning, I set up what I call Sacred Space which is where I clear my energy, ground my energy, and call in my Spiritual Protections. I then talked to my main spirit guide and asked him if these covenants of old were still in place. He said they had been weakened by my spiritual work and healing over the years, but that they were still in place to some degree. I then asked if they could be broken and he said yes and that he and my other spiritual guides and helpers could do that for me. But that I had to state out loud what I wanted. So I said something to the effect of, “It is 2025, my name is Susan Fullmer, and I release any covenants and promises that I have made with this organization.” And while I was at it, I decided to get it all done right here and now. I also included any other covenants I may have made in this lifetime or any other lifetime that are not in my highest and best good. Wow, turns out there were a lot! It took some time, but it all feels clear now. If this calls to you, you can do it too. You can either do it for yourself, or you can find a good healer to help you.
