Susan Rambles: Suddenly Interrupted by the Whiff of a Tomato Plant. Truth is reflected in everything.
I’m sitting on the back patio of my favorite local coffee shop. Laptop opened with typing fingers poised and big plans for “getting lots of computer work done this morning” - suddenly interrupted by the whiff of a tomato plant. My chair is positioned with my back to a luscious planter of various grasses, flowers and wouldn’t you know it, a tomato plant. It’s the cherry-tomato version with tiny green pearls a plenty, lined up in rows here and there. The smell is so sudden and distinct that I intuitively know that it is about something important. And no, there is no breeze.
